Bar Manager Required

The Club is now looking to appoint a Bar Manager/Manageress who will be responsible for the smooth running of the bar.

It is a part-time voluntary position, although payment will be made for any hours actually worked behind the bar.

The person appointed may come from the Committee but it is not a requirement that you are currently a member of the Committee.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION:   

Bar Manager

 

OVERVIEW:

To ensure the smooth running of the clubhouse bar within a predefined budget and ensuring all functions are adequately staffed.            

 

SALARY:

Voluntary position but any hours worked behind the Bar will be paid at the current rate.

 

HOURS:

Must be flexible.

 

DUTIES:

Recruit, train and motivate staff as required.

Create a “happy” environment that encourages members and guests to visit the club

Ensure sufficient staff and keyholders are available to open / lock premises, cover all required bar shifts and sufficient change is available for the till.

Be aware of licensing laws and ensure the premises are running legally.

Liaise with Bob Parker / Sue Cox to ensure the Bar is fully stocked whilst being aware of the available budget.

Ensure weekly hours worked are advised to Finance on time and so wages can be paid on time.

Ensure cellar, stock and lines are kept in good condition.

Complete regular stock checks

Make regular contact with the brewery.

Keep accurate records of all expenditure and takings

Take bookings / liaise with committee and staff regarding any social events.

Produce monthly report for the committee.

Comply with all health and safety requirements

 

KEY SKILLS:

Previous bar experience desirable but not essential.

Good communication and ability to deal with the public.

Man management skills.

Ability to manage an events dairy and staff rosters.

Good head for figures.

Honest and trustworthy.

I could make one or two 'tongue in cheek'  comments but that's not my style !!

 

(But does 'A Good Head For Figures' relate to players ladies and Committee members wives, perchance ?? )
