FF News
Goalkeeper Luke Purnell has signed a one-year contract at Weston-Super-Mare for the 2015-16 season. Academy graduate Purnell has enjoyed another prosperous season between the sticks for the Seagulls, with his consistent performances earning international recognition with England C. The Westonian responded to the news, commenting “After a tough season for me personally signing a new contract early is brilliant. “The club has both the ambition and potential to move forward and it’s something that when asked to be a part of it for at least another year was a no brainer.” The Seagulls stopper’s reaction to the move displays the tangible spirit, conviction and enthusiasm within Ryan Northmore’s squad, undoubtedly a positive sign heading into next season. The Seagulls boss said: “We are really pleased that Luke has agreed to another season with us. He is a top keeper and an important influence in the dressing room. “He has enjoyed this season and it has shown in his performances. We hope to add more names to the retained list in the coming weeks.” Source: www.westonsmareafc.co.uk Source
