FF News
Scarborough Athletic fan Are Guttelvik has shown his magnificent support for the club ahead of the new season. The Norwegian with a lifelong love affair with Scarborough, who continues to make numerous trips over to the United Kingdom in order to watch his beloved Boro in action, has once again made a considerable donation to club funds. Guttelvik said: “I know how hard everyone works to ensure our Joint Managers have the resources to build a team that will bring us the success we all want; one that will ensure that our club returns to Scarborough on a 'high'. “Scarborough Athletic is the club I love, and I want us to succeed. In fact this year I honestly think our Managers can take us all the way to promotion; I hope my donation will make that task a little bit easier.” Guttelvik acknowledged that he is in the fortunate position of being able to help the club out financially more than most, but pointed out that everyone has their part to play. He added: “We know many people are waiting for our return to Scarborough, but we need as many of those people as possible to back the club now; to show the Council that they are right to help us come home. “Even thirty or forty more people regularly coming through the gates at Queensgate will make a huge difference to the club's coffers, and ease the pressure on those who have kept the flame alive in Bridlington for so long.” Boro Chairman Dave Holland was delighted with the support shown by Boro’s Norwegian supporter. He said: "Are's financial gesture is a real boost for us going into our new - and hopefully final - full season in Bridlington, and turbocharges our drive for promotion. “Are can see how crucial it is that we forge friendships with the business community, and is eager to lead by example. The club recognises that as our move back to Scarborough gets closer we have much more to offer a partner company. “It is significant that some are already showing interest in forging commercial links and to explore various football, community and sporting associations with us. I can think of no more fitting endorsement of what Are is hoping to achieve than sitting down with potential new business partners to discuss possibilities that could benefit us both.” Source: Scarborough Athletic FC Source
