EBAC Northern Premier League club Durham City AFC have confirmed the appointment of former Whitley Bay winger Chris Moore as their new first team manager.

The Citizens also announced that reserve coach Paul Wilkinson will become Moore's assistant.

Moore, who will be in his first managerial role, has represented the likes of Darlington, Consett and Gateshead during his playing career and was part of the Whitley Bay side that beat Glossop North End in the 2009 FA Vase Final.

Ironically he succeeds the man who led the Bay to that final, Ian Chandler, who left the Citizens managerial role two weeks ago.

Moore will make his managerial debut on Saturday when the Citizens host Bedlington Terriers at their temporary home in Consett.
