FF News
Frustrated Leek Town manager, Lee Casswell was disappointed to lose another game after his side’s fixture at Belper on Saturday fell victim to the weather. The treacherous conditions played havoc with the league programme on Saturday with 23 postponements across the three divisions whilst a 24th fixture was abandoned at half time. Blues have managed just one full game out of their last three fixtures after their recent game at Sheffield was abandoned ten minutes into the second half and the fixture at Christchurch Meadow was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Casswell now turns his thoughts to the home game against Port Vale in the Quarter Final of the Staffordshire Senior Cup – a game he is very much looking forward to. “The Belper postponement just adds to the problems of our mounting back-log of games as we enter the winter period. “The good thing is that we expect our game against the Vale to go ahead on Tuesday bringing a Football League club to Harrison Park which should attract a few more spectators especially as the board have reduced prices at the turnstiles. “We are currently injury free and the squad has been enhanced by the inclusion of Ash Jackson who makes a welcome return to the club and he is joined by Niall Green who has completed a one-match ban”, he added.
