Manager Matthews leaves Cove role

Combined Counties League club Cove have announced that manager Dave Matthews has left his role at the club.

A statement on the club's website confirmed his decision.

"Dave Matthews the clubs first team manager has stepped down from the position as from Thursday 10th December.

Dave took the position at the start of the present season and had to recruit a complete new squad and with a very young team found it a hard task in a very strong league.

A manager with an excellent record in Youth football, winning numerous trophies including the County Cup, Dave also took on the U/18's after the early departure of their manager, and also runs the U/16's winning the County Cup last season.

I am pleased to say that Dave will continue with his work with our Youth Division and wish him to thank him on behalf of Cove FC. Finally Cove FC wish to thank the Combined Counties League who have given us some time to get the club back on track
