FF News
Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Frickley Athletic are within touching distance of reaching their £50,000 for a new community pavilion and changing rooms. The Blues announced on Thursday night that their current fundraising total now stands at £45,916.80, leaving the Premier Division club just over £4,000 to raise as part of its financial commitment to the on-going grant-funded project at Westfield Lane. Delighted officials said the Frickley Athletic Redevelopment Fund's latest total was the result of "a magnificent effort from all concerned". With the external walls and roofing almost complete, work on a new car park, access road and the interior of the building is expected to be completed before the end of the season. When opened the new facility will be known as the BPS Community Clubhouse as a thank you to local window manufacturer Building Product Solutions for their help in construction. A Blues spokesman said: "The club would like to thank everyone who has contributed towards the club’s fundraising efforts and hope that this support will continue as the club strive to raise the remaining £4,000." When built Frickley's new development will house four changing rooms, officials changing rooms, additional male, female and disabled toilets and a community function room with its own catering facilities. The complex will be shared with South Elmsall United Juniors and South Elmsall United Services and will be open to community groups in the area for a range of activities and educational programmes, many aimed at encouraging people to enjoy the nearby country park as well as building up the club's fan base.
