Stockport County has released the update to the `Five-Year Plan, Moving Forward`, which sets out the Vanarama National League North club's ambitions up to 2020 and provides details of progress made during Year One.

There is still much to do to achieve the club`s headline ambitions, which include returning to the Football League, as well as measures to make the business stable and sustainable, whilst regaining ownership of Edgeley Park, but the club can look forward to the second year of its Plan with great confidence and have entered Year Two in a healthy position.

Headline achievements include:
*a huge reduction in debt
*a transfer in ownership of the stadium
*the return of a County legend to manage the team

The Plan will be used immediately as a consultation document to open dialogue with politicians, businesses and most importantly supporters, to help drive the club forward and achieve its stated aims and ambitions.

County Director Richard Park said: "We have achieved a great deal in the last twenty months: reducing debt, bringing badly-needed stability off the pitch, bringing good people in to assist with the operation of the club, bringing additional revenue into the club, bringing a string of former sponsors back into Edgeley Park, cutting costs, rebuilding relationships with the council, local companies and, of course, getting the ground in the ownership of the local authority.

“There is still more work to be done if we are to realise our overarching ambitions, but we have made significant progress as we seek to rebuild our football club."
