Pop Idols - War Is Over - The Dotmusic Review

"Folks, we have a problem," says Simon Cowell, sitting in his Santa's grotto surrounded by record company elves. "The current series of 'Pop Idol' ends before Christmas so we won't have any product in the shops for the biggest singles-buying week of the year. What shall we do?"

And he thinks, as he sits back smoking a finest Cuban lit with a fresh £20 note (cheers Will) and stroking his white cat. And then it comes to him: "I know, why don't we get all the finalists to record a Christmas cover?" Murmurs of assent fill the room. Cue said finalists getting together in a recording studio for a couple of hours and producing a risible, cash-in version of John Lennon's track.

Here's a Christmas message for you, o 'Idols': the war isn't over, although the battle to remain in the public eye is already being lost by most of you faceless no-talents. [****!!****] rubbish.
