Hornchurch 1-1 Billericay

Showed yesterday that you can have all the players in the world, but if they're not willing to go out onto the pitch and fight for the team then they're no good. We wanted it more than Hornchurch and it showed, particularly in the second half when I don't think Weaver had a save to make. Thought our full backs both had good games - Keeling was so well marked out of the game he was taken off whilst I can't remember Mark Graham doing anything apart from take corners. If I was going to be critical I would say that our crossing wasn't as good as it has been, except from the goal natch!

Just had a butchers at the video clip of the penalty decision and I have to say it looks an even worse decision from close up than it did from where we were! Pat clearly won the ball with any contact being a) Negligible and B) after Pat had played the ball and the way Opara went down he looked like he would have been more at home in the long jump pit behind the goal! Unfortuantely you can't see the goal-line on the clip of our goal but it was an excellent header from Danny.

you need to learn to be magnanimous simon....both goals were dubious....you had a good day out...thats it...

you're still bottom of the league and we're still fourth....

dont get carried away with recent developments ....

and do try and stop whinging....its a sign of failure....it does your cause no good...

I agree, both decisions were dubious but if you replay the pen in slow motion there is no proof that Pat caught the ball.

I must say though that I thought he had an excellent game, that's the sort of risk you take when making tackles in the area.

Tranmere had it their way, so did Hendon first game, since then things have kind of even themselves up.

I've just seen a blatant handball on Soccer AM that the ref missed.

Unfortunately the officials don't get a replay and whilst I think they have an unenviable job, they wouldn't do it if they didn't want to.

I trust you'll find that things do even themselves out for you, meanwhile, take heart because Ricay played some good stuff yesterday and that must bear well for the future.

I wish you well.

I've finished whinging about the Urchins luck. It's like day and night, one follows the other.

As for our goal, nowt doubious about that. Most of the 'Ricay fans were in line with the linesman and it was definately over the line.

A draw was a fair result and yes, it was a good day out and the hospitality was good. Sausages and chips were nice and despite the rilvery, the people I spoke to were friendly.

If this was any other place in the league, some would've been a bit kinder with their comments but local rilvery cuts deeper than some think.

Ricay have moved to a new dimension, well organised, good work rate, team spirit.

Billericay Scored in open play, something Hornchurch failed to do.

Yes we are bottom, yes they are fourth, But respective current form shows we might be playing them next season. Who knows?

Ford next game, a must 3 points.

When we win this, and confidence grows, just watch us rise up the table Unc.

BTFC is the place to see quality football !

Nah it's not about luck - you make your own luck in football. If your forwards keep falling over in the box then they get penalties - somebody should tell ours not to try and stay on their feet

On to more positive things: Good to see a few new faces joining the travelling Blue Army - and a few more returning to the fold! Ironically I think we've picked up more points away from home than at New Lodge so far this season and are unbeaten on our travels since mid November including taking points fom visits to 3 out of the top 7 teams. Key players are playing well although our problem remains up front where nobody other than Hockton looks like scoring at the moment. Sappleton and Davidson have added some defensive strength since they arrived, and the midfield is starting to look like a unit again.

We had (briefly) a fully fit squad on Saturday (Luke (lord lucan) Bauckham being the obvious exception ) so hopefully Luke Graham's injury won't keep him out for any length of time.

Hey I'm positive and the way the lads played yesterday with passion and pride aplenty was good to see.

S'funny, but I spoke to a fella over the park this morning who said he was standing with your lot, and he said the ball definately didn't cross the line.
I think everyone's interpretation will be governed by which team they support. That's footie

It doesn't matter if it did or didn't...the goal stands & the score remains 1-1.
As you said to me yesterday...the ref's spoilt the game again.

Standing directly inline with the goaline I didnt think it was a goal but we deserved a bit of luck as the penalty was never a penalty as Opara clearly divided he should have been sent off earlier if he had deliberately elbowed Luke Graham not sure if it was deliberate as I didnt see but it certainly very late. I felt the tactics in the second half were superb as for the majority of the second half we looked the better team and the way that Keeling and Graham were dealt with was superb as two very high class players at this level were made to look very ordinary by Henty and Taylor. Also felt that Pat made another impressive performance. I feel that we now have a very tough to beat side with a well organized defence and are a good striker away from moving up the table towards a promotion place

I've been down your gaff three times now and have had a selection of refreshments.

The FA Cup game, I had a half pounder with cheese from the van next to the main gate. My rating would be 5/10.

When I came down and watched you play Kingstonian, I treated myself to a quarter pounder with bacon and cheese. My rating 7/10. Oh and some chips from the other van...rating 6/10.

This weekend I went for the bvar snacks and would definately suggest that the two dogs and chips are the tops. 8/10. Fair nice tucker but they can't be rated in the overall burger rating, top three of which are Braintree, Bognor and Hayes. At the mo. Oh and that isn't in any particular order.

thought it was a game of few chances. Credit our lads for fighting all the way. We need to do this every game if we are to stay out of the do-do. Thought davidson played his best game so far. as for hornchurch they are nothing if you stamp out there physical prescence. But what a souless place that stadium is. The only atmosphere was coming from the 'ricay boys. waht was the point of the silly band as well? They sparked into life every now and then but nobody gave a toss and only spurred the billericay contingent on even more.

full marks to justin for that...it was and is the right way to play us....

Atmosphere was good first half with the noisier fans in the same area of terracing - 2nd half was pretty dead by comparison with the 2 sets in opposite corners. Like it or not a running track always dampens the atmosphere at any ground.

It was my first visit to Upminster (I was ooop North for the Cup game) and I think there's some things there that we should try out at New Lodge - and some things we should avoid like the plague.

well there are some things that you have avoided like the plague....being successful is one....

having a decent and clean clubhouse.....good crowds and a well groomed ground.....dressing rooms and pitch is another....anything I've missed.....oh yeah....

keeping yur gob shut when bottom of the league...leads to all sorts of nasty people having a go at you....

simon...you're obviously a decent and good chap....

take your foot out of yur fckin mouth please....

you are hereby known as master cringeworthy....
