Raunds Town made a brave fist of it last night at Hall Road and took the lead shortly after the interval through Nigel Chikamba, however in the end it was a bridge too far for them and Eynesbury Rovers progress to the Semi Finals along with Eaton Socon, Stotfold and Godmanchester Rovers:

It's no surprise that Stotfold and Eaton Socon drew each other in the Semi Final of the competition and they meet on Tuesday 18 April at the New Roker Park, the other Semi Final between Eynesbury Rovers and Godmanchester Rovers, at Hall Road, has yet to be arranged.

No difficulties for Stotfold on Tuesday evening at the New Roker Park in reaching the Hinchingbrooke Cup Final where they will meet Godmanchester Rovers who surprisingly defeated Eynesbury Rovers 2-1 at Hall Road the following evening. The Final will take place on Friday 5 May at Eaton Socon FC, kick off 7.45pm, when Stotfold could already be a Step 4 Club with their Step 4/Step 5 Play-Off at Northern Premier League Division One Midland Dereham Town taking place tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon:

You can tell, reading between the lines of Stotfold boss Brett Donnelly's statement, that he wasn't best pleased with his team's performance last night, disappointingly losing the Hinchingbrooke Cup Final 1-0 to Godmanchester Rovers, however he explains it away cleverly by saying promotion to Step 4, for the first time in the Club's history, was beyond his wildest dreams:

Didn’t turn up tonight.. gutted as a cup to finish the season would have rounded it off nicely. However we done something in getting promoted that was beyond our wildest dreams so we’ll take that. Praise to all my players.. forget tonight but learn from it. Season done.
