It's all the fault of the local council. We could have signed Reyes if only they had given us the £20 million that we needed.

And their refusual to give us planning permission on the Brothel for away players, just because we didn't have a business plan or funding or anything else for that matter, means that the oppo players are fit and ready to play rather than tired and shagged out. Just how are we supposed to win our home games.

I don't know, bloody councils spending their money on stupid things like schools and hospitals when they could be spending it on the Fleet

Sorry chaps just had a bit of a Margate moment there. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Heard Keith Piper on RK this morning basically saying Margate had 3 plans - 2 of these had been rejected by their backers as unviable and the 3rd included retail use which Council considers inappropriate for Hartsdown.

He says they can still use it for D1 or D2 use (things such as a Creche, apparently - useful for those cry baby Margate players !!). He kept hammering on about this without explaining more fully.

He was also blaming Mr Ezekiel again (who had spoken on RK earlier) - saying the meeting last Friday was supposed to be in confidence. He didnt go as far as fully blaming Ezekiel for releasing info, but made it perfectly clear he wasnt happy about it.

He said that he wasnt expecting to go back to the Council again until today at the earliest, yetEzekiel had spoken in the meantime.

It still sounds like they're going to find it almost impossible to get this resolved quickly though

Talking of Margate, can anyone shed any light on this claim from the BBC website?:

"Uncertainty also surrounds the future of Margate, but they have until 31 May to secure their Conference place.

The Kent club can no longer ground-share with Dover beyond this summer, so would have to move back to Hartsdown Park or agree to a 'permanent' 10-year ground-share elsewhere to maintain their Conference status."

I have to say that I wasn't aware of this possibility... if indeed it is true.
