Slough 0-1 Bracknell

Not much to say really. A few changes from the Windsor game, but we never really looked interested tonight and didn't play at all well - too many long balls pumped up to Boot and Miller (incidentally it showed tonight how much we would miss Hodges if he was out for any period of time). Who knows whether that's just tiredness, or apathy, or both. Bracknell worked hard and judging by their reaction at the final whistle you can tell what it meant to them. Of course we have much more vital games in the league but I'm disappointed there will be no trip to Wycombe. I would expect a much better showing against Whyteleafe.

Yep Bracknell wanted it more and deserved their win. Created little and a few players looked wither uniterested or knackered after 3 games in a short space of time.

Good luck to Bracknell and their excellent support. Shame about two planks who were Bracknell 'fans' who on leaving the ground could not take a bit of banter after giving it large and decided to start swearing at me, seemingly looking for a fight. Spoilt a good night for the real Robins fans who deserved their win.

Roll on Saturday and good luck in the final Bracknell.

Yes, some of them did look rather over-excited, but good luck to them I suppose. It means a lot to them, as it does to us, but not at the expense of the league position. I thought the singing in the changing rooms was a bit OTT as well - not as if it's the FA Trophy final ! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The first half was a bit like watching paint dry, but not as entertaining.

Picked up a bit in the second half, but without Hodges we had little to offer up front---as Matt says thats a worry.

I think we got the tactics wrong---we weren't up for it,and should have played more reserves who might have shown a bit more interest. As it is, we've run the risk of knackering the starting line up for Saturday.

Provided we win on Saturday, today will soon be forgotten--at least we avoided extra time.

You can see how much it meant to Bracknell, and to be honest fair play to them. We rested Foster, Daly & Hodges, so you could see Eddie was in the mind of, if we win, great, if we lose, oh well.

As nice as it would have been, top six is more important now and tonight was a good run out for some fringe players and those with looming suspensions along with what was essentially our first choice midfield.

In my opinion, too many fans, and, by what happened on the pitch, players, turned up tonight not caring what happened. I personally went to tonights match hoping for a win and with the hope to get a bit of atmosphere again. However, most fans couldn't be bothered and the team were just as bad. I understand that finishing top 6 is the most important thing but I do believe that we should have tried harder, both on and off the pitch tonight. Also, what the hell has Danny Steer done wrong? I am big fan of what Eddie Denton has done this season and I believe he is the right man for the job. However, I can't understand why Steer is never given a chance when at the start of the season he looked so promising. If he doesn't start playing soon we are going to lose another excellent prospect to another non league club and over time live to regret it. Come on Eddie, give Danny another chance!!!!!

Thanks for all the comments about us and being dignified in defeat.

I am not sure who the planks were you mentioned...who were they and what did they look like?, I was one of the last fans to leave so I didn't see it as I always have to take our flag down, roll it up, and trundle off 5 hours later!

A match report is now on our site, seems biased towards us I know but from where I saw it we created the clearer chances, and there were plenty of them.

As for the rest of the season, may be you'll go up and we'll get some siverware. I'd take that now, then we will all be happy.

Nice one

ps..I was one of the smelly ones in the bar who ran from Bracknell to Windsor with a rucksack on my back as part of my training.

And what was all that clapping about in the 2nd half, followed by some noise around the chancing rooms as the players left?

Radders decided that in the absence of chanting our patented random clap should continue until Slough scored or the final whistle, whichever came first.

The nosie around the changing rooms was started by some highly excited Bracknell players as they went off the pitch. Some Slough fans responded with a song of their own.

Enjoy your final.

I am surprise by our players' response, after all thay had only just beaten Slough!

No, I jest. We actually all thought the cheer sounded like 'we want denton out', which would have been a tad harsh.

So who were those 2 fans who have no sense of humour?

At the end of the match, Underwood was giving it the biggun toward the Slough fans as he entered the changing room, which was quite funny as we really didn't care, and the youth team couldn't grasp that concept either as they appeared to be goading the Slough fans (bless em).

Slough fans responded with 'We are going up' outside the changing room door.

Don't think there can be any complaints that you were the better side on the night, but the atmosphere was atrocious for a semi final. I think the home fans attitudes matched that of the management in a don't care style. It really did feel like the Bryco Cup game against Cheshunt, where it clearly meant everything to the opposition and very little to us.

Anyway, good luck in the final. If Windsor get into it, hope you beat them!

By the way I totally agree about Danny Steer, why oh why did he not start? Alex Haddow played Saturday, played 90 minutes in a very hard game against Windsor, and played 90 minutes last night. And one would assume he'll play this Saturday. So if there's a ready-made replacement on the bench, why not use him?? I also thought Boot, and Hakki or Harris should have been rested, with someone like Deaner or Riddell up front.

If you didn't really care that much

(a) you shouldn't have bothered going to the game

(B) you should have stuck our your reserves (a bit like we did!)

Where is your site's match report as well?
