BBC Radio Kent re game tonight!!!!

Recommended Posts

Several of their fans accept that the sending off was a "shocking challenge", well deserving of a red card, and there seems to have been little comment on the penalty, other than someone agreeing there was contact. Radio Shropshire seemed to endorse that view as well.

Overall, there message board has had far more "slagging" of their own player, Colin Cramb, who apparently asked to be substituted (despite no injury).

I think Moussa has picked up something of a "diving" reputation - I havent seen anything blatant from him, and his pace is normally the undoing of defenders.

And that run of away games, stretches to 10 - 5 wins and 5 draws - an incredible record and I doubt it can be matched/bettered by many, if any (other than possibly Chester and Hereford)

I attended the game as it is one of the more local ones for me.

The fleet fully deserved the draw, I have to say the crowd was very hostile even in the so called family enclosure!!

The Referee was correct to their player off as for the penalty I was at the wrong end but according to Dave Stevens who stood with the home fans (Brave) it was a stone bonker.

Once Moussa came on he felt the studs on the defenders on more than one occasion.

IMO I think we will be back again next season as they looked a pale shadow of the team who beat us 3-0 earlier in the season or it maybe that the fleet are a lot better

Sorry about the poor coverage from Gay Meadow last night. Entirely down to a technical problem which prevented the Bard of Knotty Ash travelling down leaving me stranded with just my mobile. There was no sports show on RK last night and none of the sports team were in the studio. However, thanks to Mike Green and Matt Davison(both off duty)I was drafted in to supply half time and full time reports and I also interviewed Ade and Shears after the game and I heard Lee "God of Goalscoring" Shearer's interview on the 8.30 bulletin this morning. Better than nothing I hope.

Not to worry Chas.....you have both done an outstanding job(and thanks for the mention at the Accy game)all Season.....Look forward to next Season....and lets hope the Fleet can get the right equipment so you can cover home matches also!

Maybe one of these would help for home games

Thanks for the 1st hand info. Apart from you & Dave (at opposite ends of the ground, it would appear) were there many other brave souls who ventured into what was obviously very hostile territory & made their allegiance known?

Talking of Dave Stevens, I haven't seen this ex- director, whose ILEA career was arbitrarily cut short by Thatcher's madness, for years. When I used to trawl the ground, selling the old instant lottery cards, I could keep up, but locked away in the genteel environment of the centre stand, things tend to pass you by. Has he moved, or is he still a resident of Rainham & therefore to be congratulated for his journey last night?

As a fellow referee, how many /10 would you have given last night's main official?

Dave has now moved to a village near Leominster and spends most of his Saturdays watching Hereford at home and going to see the Fleet when they are near ie Shrews, Telford Hereford etc.

regarding the refereee I would say 7.5 he was brave to send off their player but I think bottled in respect of their No10 Crambe..He was not helped by two very poor assistants who seemed to be working to a different set of laws with regard to offside.

In some respects if that is a noraml football league crowd I would rather be a successfull confernece side than ensure that every week

Dear all

the technical problem was the fact that my car blew up on the way to shrewsbury .

for those of you who know anything about shropshire you will know it has plenty of open spaces - i got stuck in one and had to be towed home - These things happen but it still doesnt stop you feeling that youve let folk down- so im sorry we couldnt bring you the on line commentary.

Big thanks to CW for doing what he did and i hope that we have done this year has been enjoyable

regards until Next season
