Enfield and the Ryman league

Recommended Posts

I think it is a disgrace that not only Enfield are going to the ryman league ....to finish 4th in the essex senior league for a team of enfields stature is diabolical and to think that your manager has done a good job is a joke. With the money and the crowds you get every week if i was manager and i didnt win the league id resign .I think you have used the esl and now you have your status somewhat back you turn your back.If you had won the league fair enough as someone like leyton did but you are miles behind them .Some teams in that league who are on no money dont have the crowd s you get have more than matched you this year but its because of your crowds that you get your chance in the ryman .heres not wishing you any luck at all because you dont deserve it .

No disrespect meant to the other ESL clubs but ETFC have seen and done it all in this league. Ideally we would have moved on in a blaze of glory last season but these things take time.

And nope, there is no relegation from Ryman 2.

I don't think Mr The Fans (or may I call him Loved By? I am assuming he is a he of course) has quite got the hang of this.

He (or she) assumes ETFC is gaining promotion unfairly. Not so, it is a sideways move, by invitation, as has been stated repeatedly, so it is not clear what his (or her) problem is.

Secondly, he (or she) seems to think ETFC are hugely rich and offer vast sums to their players. Not so, as has been explained on another thread (if it's anyone else's business).

Thirdly, if club movement was purely on league positions - and it is undeniable that there have been many injustices in the past - then ETFC deserved to go up to Ryman 1N last season.

Finally, it is true that Leyton were a very very good side in their ESL championship season, (and have gone on to win two consecutive subsequent promotions). In that season ETFC beat them twice (once on penalties) lost once and one was abandoned. Clearly the two clubs were not that far apart. Obviously a club develops with promotion, and Leyton have indeed progressed: no doubt ETFC would also have progressed if promoted.

no i am not a sawbo fan at all i know that it is a sideways move and i agree having seen your side since you started in this league that in previous seasons you have been fantastic but sorry this season you have a very poor side and i dont think you have had a successful seqson at all and i dont think your manager has done a good job.to be honest as well having seen ryman two as well i think it is a step backwards teams like clapton and chalfont st peter what a league .if you stop wearing blinkers you yourself would realise this

LBTF, I am not at all convinced that this sideways move is a good idea, but not all the facts have been laid before us in order for us to make a fair judgement.

We have had a good season. Our first two seasons were excellent seasons.

This season we only lost 3 games, only 3 teams finished higher than us (one on goal difference) and we were unbeaten away. We won the League Cup.

Not a bad season at all, but no, not as good as the previous two.
