1ST team player's V fans cricket match

Recommended Posts

Saturday 7th August (tommorow), the players take on a fans 11 team at cricket. Its going to be twenty20 so there will be twenty overs per team. Its going to be a great day for all so get yourself over at waterside farm. The first ball will be bowled at 1pm. Its free to watch but the game is for charity so any donations would be greatfull. Little haven's hospice is the charity the game is in aid for.

The players team:

OLLIE BERQUEZ

KEVIN DOBINSON

STEVE PARMENTER

NEIL GREGORY

DANNY POTTER

ASHLEY HARRISON

WAYNE PURSER

LEON GORDON

BEN CHENERY

GAVIN COWAN

CHRIS DUFFY

TONY QUINTON

It would be great to see as many of you down there as this is really going to be an enjoyable day. While there isnt football on, what a good way to spend your saturday chilling in a deck chair watching your hero's getting bowled out for golden ducks and getting humiliated. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

While the cricket match is for charity, the supporters team will be in for a rough ride as the players will be going all out for a win. Expect every dirty trick in the book to be played against you including bouncers, heckling and dirt being rubbed on the ball.

The Canvey faithful should remember that cricket is like football, as soon as you step over that white line, there are no friends!!!

bring it on!!

That's fighting talk!!

Let me begin by wishing you good luck as you'll need it. we have been practising and should win by a big margin. It will be like taking candy off a baby and i cant see the supporters putting up much resistance.

Well well well!!!

Looks like my prediction came true!! The supporters were humiliated by a crushing defeat with the players having 5 overs to spare!!

I thought the match was played in good spirit and at a good level with money being raised for charity which was the main aim of course

If the supporters ever fancy a complete beating at any other sport just let us players know and we'll be only too happy to help!!

i think we both know where all the players will be this Saturday but any other time we will be happy to oblige.

i thought you put up a good fight at the cricket and took the banter well but ultimately you were outclassed.

i hope the cricket will be a permanent fixture for the coming pre season
