The following message appears in tonight's Centre Spot :-PROMOTION APPLICATIONS

The ESL have received official notification from the FA of the Applications for Promotion to Step 4 at the end of this season all subject to gaining 1st or 2nd place and correct ground criteria. There are 60 applicants from 13 leagues and the two without candidates are the Northern and Eastern Counties. Burnham, Enfield Town and Waltham Abbey go for us and there are 9 Ryman Div 2 clubs, 4 Spartan South Midlands, 2 CCL but, surprisingly, only one from the Sussex, UCL and Western Leagues. There are 8 places to play for and we await details of how the play-offs will now be organised to achieve these.
