I was talking to an offical at the club on Saturday and he said as far as he was concerned Costello isn't banned.

So the team is doing well, the crowds seem to be slowly returning, Costello is back in, only really one problem left now <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smash.gif" alt="" />

 

BTW has anyone heard from the great man as his mobile has a unattainable tone on it.

Well, last time I spoke to James, he told me that Costello would not be served. If James has not been told otherwise, I'd assume that he is still banned.

Nothing surprises me in this club, to be honest.

As I've said many times before, my heart went out of supporting St Albans City Football Club because of two incidents in the 2003/04 season.

1. - when I got banned after the Billericay game by John Gibson, by email, with no explanation nor right to reply.

2. - when two of my friends got physically attacked by SACFC players in the clubhouse, and the incident was not only brushed under the carpet, but condoned by the chairman.

Now, I have not felt the same about this club ever since.

If you, Thornsy, are prepared to forgive and forget all that, then I guess you're a bigger man than I am.

I, on the other hand, will never forget the way that man has treated myself and my friends, and I cannot bring myself to support the club any more.

It's such a shame, but in truth, the only reason I still go along to have a drink or two in the clubhouse is to see my good mates.

Re Costello. He asked Eamsie to find out if he was still banned. We have to assume that Eamsie has spoken to Gibbo.

Yeah, that was out of order, but the two points I made have really, really upset me, to the point that I no longer have any feelings for the club.

 

Believe me, I'd love to have the same enthusiasm that I used to, but I just don't.

I totally agree, but plenty of supporters have issue's with the people who run the club but they don't stop supporting, you just try and do your bit to remove said people.

 

Would you do the same if say there was a bit of trouble down the Lane and you were pictured in the middle of it (even if you weren't involved, which of course you woudl be <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />) and banned or if Robbie Keane was in Ice Bar and you said something to him and he floored you?

Thornsy - it's all about keeping yourself happy - not carrying out some form ofmisguided loyalty.

 

Yes, it is a shame I feel like this, and believe me I don't want to , but if the things that go on at SACFC make me unhappy then why would I want to go to games, like some miserable martyr to the cause?

 

As I've tried to explain on here before, if you've got £20 in your pocket for the week, you find the one thing to do which will give you optimum value for that cash. Some people would buy a couple of albums from HMV. Some people would go to the pub and have a few drinks. Some people would go to SACFC, watch the match and have a pint or two.

 

Why should I be prepared to spend my £20 on something that gives me no enjoyment just to carry out some form of stubborn gesture? I'm going to spend it on something that actually gives me enjoyment. Going to Spurs gives me enjoyment. Having a drink with you, or Dave, or Laz gives me enjoyment. Going out for a meal with Mrs Z gives me enjoyment.

 

In answer to the Spurs question, yes, of course I would feel the same way. If someone throws a spanner into the works of something I really enjoy, of course I'm going to resent it.

All my friends come on here and it's a good medium to have a chat about music, booze, women etc.

 

To me, there are no links between the SACFC General Forum and the football club. Just the name.
