Gate 229

Well for the first 20 minutes you could have been forgiven for thinking that Hullbridge were the top of the table team.

First town strike was a Graeme Hall header which was saved by Adam (the) Seal. Soon to follow Rudi Hall tried to lob the keeper from almost the wing halfway line for Seal to palm the ball over his bar. Town were soon falling over themselves to try to get shots in. Rudi Hall took a free-kick which Dean Green headed just over. Dean Nyman crossed the ball only for David Allen to head wide. Dean Nyman had a solo effort skim just wide. At half-time 0 – 0 and Hullbridge were well worth the draw at that pointing the match.

Second half appeared to proceed in a similar vein. Rudi Hall tried a screamer from the edge of the box which missed.

Ndombe on for Campbell

In the 57th minute David Allen went for stardom with an on target overhead kick which beat Seal and was going in but for the hand on the number 11 making a beautiful save Seal would have been proud of. Straight red card and Rudi Hall nailed the penalty 1 – 0. Town began to settle. Seb 8 feet in front of goal with an almost open goal spooned it over the bar – head in hands time!

In the 65th minute Matty Negus took a short corner to Rudi Hall who crossed the ball for Dean Green to knee in to the net 2 – 0.

Riley on for Gant

Masala on for Nyman

Matty crossed for Lee Smith to hit just wide.

Lee Smith was then denied by the post Ndombe got the rebound and he was denied by the bar and then a second shot by Seb Ndombe was saved by a flipper of Seal in what must have been a reflex save. Rudi Hall to Matty Negus and again a superb shot was palmed over. A shot from Rudi Hall was saved.

But for the superb acrobatics of Seal it could have been 5 or 6 nil. 3 more points but Hullbridge were no push over! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />
