If I want one of the Urchinettes....... I just have to use my charm.

Or in the case of Urchinett, Boroman, have plastic surgery to look like Jude Law and she'll fall straight into your arms without any invitation! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" />

I can't express my thoughts on that news.

They are unprintable.

Situation is a bit like your wife going to live with the bloke next door who has a bigger car, house and a villa in Spain.

Only consolation is that we will evenually have our own purpose built stadium and sports grounds in the fulness of time which will be the envy of every player not involved with Romford FC.

The expression "short term gain leading to long term disappointment" comes readily to mind.

What's going on.

We put a bloke on contract so we can get some much needed dosh for him when the right bid comes along.

Then we let him go for peanuts to another team in the ESL.

Steve King is a talent and we should have held out for a serious bidder, it makes you wonder what his own commitment is to improving himself.

Before anyone says too much on this subject, I suggest that you understand the true position concerning a contract.

My understanding is that Mr King was no longer under contract. The contract was terminated by mutual consent after the ETT final. The reason behing this is that Steve intends to pursue a career with the Fire Service and this is likely to impact upon his regular availability for training and matches in the future.

JTH you are spot on, before we castigate Mr King, he has given many loyal years service to the club, has refused various offers in the past. The details are private but he believes at this time this is the right move for him. Time will tell how many games he will be able to commit to but as a free agent is entitled to go where he wants, let's leave the door open in case he wants to return at some juncture. It is not at all like your wife leaving you for the bloke next door.... I will miss him !

That seems to make sense.

However it a pitty that we have had a guy who is a gifted player on contract fro three years and we have not been able to cash in.

When somebody suggested as much at a supporters meeting earlier in the season, the were slated from all quarters.

Have we been short sighted by being concerned more with Steve's ability as a player in out team, than his value as a cash asset.

Never mind mate. I'm sure you will get over it!!!

I certainly will when we pick up six league points from you and knock you out of various cups
next season.

Seriously though. What you must understand is that SK wasn't a gifted player for the Boro he was an ikon and part of our hope for the future.

It hurts to lose him under such circumstances.
