Stand Situation

Having read the comments about the Northfleet End I will just clarify the situation for you all. Following a meeting between The Chairman, Fire Safety Officer, Building Regs Officer and myself prior to the last game it was agreed that the club could partially reopen the stand.

This was dependent on three things;

1. The Yellow Boxes were in place to keep people back from the wall.

2. That the club issue tickets (at no charge) to restrict the capacity to 300.

3. That the stand was stewarded by at least 7 stewards to ensure no one attempted to enter the closed area.

If we had failed to comply with this they would have kept it closed so the lads issuing tickets are simply ensuring that we do not exceed 300. If you collect a ticket retain it for inspection should you leave the stand and want to return. Once 300 have been given out we will not allow anyone else on and we cannot use it as a walk through so please do not take it out on the stewards they are acting to my instructions to ensure we can at least get a few of you in to the area.

It wont be too long and hopefully the rest of the work can begin to bring the capacity back up to 800.

I was at first taken aback by some young guy asking me if I had a ticket, thinking there was a charge lol, but of course it's the only way to do it.

The tickets are there to ensure that it doesn't over fill, there's no problems going out and getting back in, something that someone worried about on another thread and it made it possible for us to (almost) stand in our usual spot.

The only downside was the bloody rain halfway through, but hey, you can't have everything.
