SUSPENSIONS

I just read that the canvey island keeper mckinney will get a one match ban for a straight red card he received friday night. it is only one match as it was a professional foul.

to me that is reasonable. it is even reasonable that you get a 3 match suspension for other incidents.

my problem is with OUR league. why are these rules good enough for conference upwards but not us. if someone in our league gets a straight red card it is 35days straight away. at this level that could be 10 games!!!!! surely this does not make sense. can anyone enlighten me or set me straight if im off track here!!

the way the essex fa do their suspensions is ridiculous .

I was once sent off at Hornchurch after the final whistle for Improper behaviour towards a match offical and i received a 2 match suspension . The same punishment in the esl is rewarded witha statutory 121 day ban - 4 months football for telling the ref to f--- off !!!!! ridiculous !!!!

Tell me about it....With Saturday and Tuesday matches at Manor I face mising ten games! Include five Sunday matches and I miss potentially 15 matches!! Sheer and Utter bol*ox!

Is there anyway we can challenge this! Surely this is unacceptable!

I will give you a scenario.....If for instance, we drew a Ryman team in the FA VASE and I an Essex Senior League player get involved in handbags fisticuffs! Both players are then shown straight reds!

He later gets a three game ban But I would potentially miss 15 matches!!!

something must be done about this. its just not on. after all, at this level especially, football is more of a hobby - except to money grabbers like trenks!!(hahahaha) - and that is a lot of games. fair is fair, 3 matches is a reasonable punishment. 15 is an absolute disgrace. what can we do?

if you don't like being suspended, i would suggest that you stop fighting or telling the ref to [****!!****] off.

if you can't do the time, don't commit the crim n'all that.

simple really <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

no YT you do not love that.!

tree, wat about a last defender who brings down a striker through on goal genuinely going for the ball. rules say red card - fair enough. but does that player merit a lengthy suspension??

but why not 3 matches in the first place, like any league at a higher level. i cant do much else but emphasise 35 days = 5 weeks = possible 10 matches + any sunday matches missed. dont forget someone will have taken your place in the side and you may have to work for a long time to get it back.

if it is a diabolical incident the FA can punish the individual apporpriatly. its bollox if you ask me.

So tree...what is the difference, now your saying different rules for different cases!

So...your team are gunning to avoid relegation and only need a point to stay up!! Your 1-0 down and a defending player handles the ball on the line in the last minute! Penalty is missed and your team go down!

Your saying, thats fair enough! I`ll take that player relegating my team for a one game ban, yeah right mate! But if a player calls a linesman a [****!!****] then he deserves missing a dozen games!!!

if you look at it in the way of being banned for 3 games it could be over in a week for a player which players saturday (i.e burnham) then sunday (i.e pro performance) then maybe having a game on tuesday night for say again burnham. then the suspention is over in a space of a week! but if a player who only players on saturdays it takes longer for the suspention to over come! thats why i think all suspentions should be done over days and not games!

dont agree with you YT. if you get sent off then you should be suspended for the club you got sent off for.

imagine getting sent off on a sunday and that suspends for you 'proper' club. the refereeing decisions are bad enough at ESL little own a sunday morning!
