Sorry old chap,as i am nearly 40 i was talking about 70,s and 80,s when no live games were shown.A london area game was shown with Brian Moore commentating ,then we were shown highlights from around the country with commentators like Hugh Johns,Genrald sinstad and the like.Those were the days when teams were frightend of visiting Burnley,stoke and teams like Derby County.

Derby were the nuts.Charlie George had signed by then and they had a winger called alan hinton who wore white boots who was like charles charlie charles off harry enfield.

didnt Alan Hinton actually design those white boots himself aswell though ?? he looked like he was in plimsoles !!!

They were a quality side , my old mans got a few old match of the day videos. They used to thump teams for fun . Kevin Hector was a legend for them !!

The kevin Hector john o`hare partnership was of the legendary kind.Francis lee wore a rams shirt also and was famous for a tear up he had with norman hunter.After they been sent off for fighting they decided to continue the bout as they were walking off the pitch.Good old bare knuckle style.

not sure about quality...billericay keeper sent off after 10 mins after he latched onto a sh!t back pass from defender. they didnt name sub keeper, dale brightly(shame cos i really like him!!.. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/icon29.gif" alt="" />!) so striker went in goal and billericay were still better. good result for maldon as they needed the points.

i think the barkingside of last season would have caused them problems. i dont think that will be the case this time round. sam bonham and leon diaczuk were there as was the barkingside gaffer - scouting no doubt!
