Dam right chels 47 points out of the last available 51 speaks for itself. Players who gladly turned up for trainning, fought for a place in the first team, and who regularly talked on the level to supporters in terry hall.

In fact one season of everything a local football club should be, on a fraction of the budget. (A £400/ week for Keith Scott your having a laugh production.)

Here it is at long last, proof if ever it was needed that Byron was indeed a better manager than Dennis: Lets have a look at the full League records of the big fellas:

Dennis (2003) w26 d13 l7 (56% matches won)

Byron (2001) w24 d10 l8 (57% matches won)

So there you have it, stone cold cast iron evidence that Byron was god. And yes Byrons promotion was achieved on a fraction of the budget!

I sense some deep love for Byron here, why suddenly bring all this up? Surely this would have been a better conversation after Byron was sacked. All I can determine from this is you are madly in love with Byron, Charlotte Church played at the G.A.Y club recently according to the Sun maybe you should get yourself down there, what with your obvious attraction to them glasses of Byrons!

i think it was that season we turned up late at wivenhoe due to traffic 2-0 down at half time, a good team spirit and fought back to get a point, those were my 'glory days' of the club, really wish we oculd get more like them!

whoever this is your on a different planet, i think the stick dennis takes on here and at the scum across the road is unjust and should be remembered for the six good years he gaves us.he only took us forward, if it was 400 for scotty is that not worth it for getting out of div one, we could still been in there under byron if you remember the position we were in back then,

On Mr Greene may i refer you to the thread "dennis Greene was pants, by Mr Simon Cowell esq.

As for Keith yes he added experience, yes he ruined the career of another promising young striker, and yes he soon cleared off when the money ran out.

Just a quick point.

If you take each game as having 3 pts for a win and one for a draw (I assume cup games are in there): <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" />

Dennis got 91 points from a potential 138 which is 66%

Byron got 82 from a possible 126 65%.

Pretty similar I'd say.

Also, I remember singing both names both as a player and manager. I wouldn't slate either for their time at Windsor and thank them for doing good for the club.

One of our most successful managers, Brian Caterer, got lucky with a team that played for each other. When he left for Woking, with the team, we were stuffed, yet everyone agreed he should come back and manage. Sadly, he couldn't be successful anywhere else, or as it happens back at Windsor.

Sometimes managers get it right, sometimes they get it wrong, but both Den & Byron gave us something to be happy about and something to remember them by. Sadly, when a manager leaves he has usually had his best times and it is time to move on anyway.

Good luck to the pair at Hemel, or should I say good luck to Hemel?!?!?!?!?

It is cetainly true that if you exclude the times when Windsor were bottom, then they were never bottom under Greene.
