i know this might be a silly question but is there any chance of you lot staying in the conference next season as if we dont go up like to play you lot next season

Well Jeff himself has stated that he thinks we would find it extremely hard to operate even in the Conference South next season, so Conference National seems highly improbable.

I didn`t get a programme Ken, can you remember the full details and who wrote it? Unless we have someone else backing us i can`t see where we are getting £5000 p/w from!

i have heard it from a good authority this afternoon that should grays win the play offs then they will be refused permission into the football league,i assume it is for the ground but it is from someone in the know

If its in the Sun it must be true ! Seriously surely we can fund Conf South football next season

I can't see how we'd manage to get anywhere in the Conference South. Even if we could fund the costs of running the Club we certainly wouldn't be able to foot a wage bill for a squad capable of competing in that League.

 

I have no idea what the utility bill for the ground is, but for Conference South football you would realistically have to get 400 fans paying 10 quid each through the turnstile every week to balance out a 20 man squad each on 200 quid a week.

 

Now that doesn't include Win/Goal/Clean Sheet bonuses, match official fees, opposition hospitality fees, funding for the players coach for the next away game, you name it.

 

You hope that the intake from the bars and refreshments can pay for their own but if they come up short one week, someone has to put their hand in their pocket.

 

Sorry, but for me, Conference South is too much of a gamble.
