Enough is Enough

(Please do not take this as a negative comment)

I think we are all learning the difference between "Fans and Management", comments on here (from both) are teaching us that, I think a lot of issues arise when:-

The management are fans!

The fans are management!

Almost every club suffers with this problem!!

The fans and management get so tied up with each others issues they both forget about THE SUPPORTERS (volunteers, managers, cleaners, ticket sales, owners, tea ladies and occassional contributors) they are all as important as each other!!!

When the balance gets skewed thats when clubs have problems.

The balance is often skewed when one of the above feels that their contribution is less valued than the others, however economics demmand that sometimes that is the case.

If you forget the fans and managers, focus on the SUPPORTERS, a lot of issues will dissolve.

I aint even had a whiskey tonight!!

No negativity felt by me from your post MOB.

It's so hard to be objective from whatever side of the fence you are from. We have all walked our own way and have our own perspectives from it.

The bottom line for me is Footy is footy. Whoever you support, and however you support, it is the footy and the perpetuation of the Non League (in my opinion) that is important. We are all 'players' in that game.

If you support Football in general, you cannot be hurt, cos it will always be around <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

There is a major no-no in non-league football and that is support that fails to understand two basic issues behind the scenes at non-league club.

1. Gate money in 99% of all clubs will not allow a successful team beyond local Sunday stuff or low level non-league.

2. Unknown heroes who love their clubs carry out the vast majority of the essential work carried on behind the scenes.

So why do fans of successful teams fail to understand that when the essential money needed to become successful is available it is always the gift from one man.

· He made do it from ego.

· He may do for a tax break.

· He may do it for love of the club.

He will of course eventually stop pumping money in! So what then? Well you thank him for that great period in the clubs history and if there are enough of you (rare indeed) then income beyond the gate receipts has to be generated.

As in all walks of life once an issue becomes history it’s over, to invent a new history at non-league level the future is determined by actions but never by a longing for the past.

Best of luck for the coming season.
