First game of the season home to..

Recommended Posts

Gavin - They're a friendly Club and you'll enjoy playing them, we've drawn them at home in the Challenge Trophy and one of their players RobbieO comes on here to chat. Last season was only their first in the SSML Premier following promotion and they did really well to finish in the top half, they don't travel that well though and don't score many goals away from home so you should be capable of turning them over if you keep RobbieO quiet, I gather he's their star man. You'll be up for the game anyway and should get a decent crowd, is that your only fixture you know about at present.

Plenty of goalscorers at Biggs Utd this year, but if i'm selected i will do my utmost to get on the scoresheet - (and then brag about it on here of course ;-)

Cannot wait for the new season.......Are the fixtures out??

RobbieO - Edgware will have to put something into your pre match tea or half time orange juice to keep you quiet, we've got something up our sleeve when you come to our place (Hendon) in the Challenge Trophy which I'm sure some of your players are looking forward to, it will be good to be the Man Utd of Division 1 this season. No we can't seem to get hold of the fixtures other than in dribs and drabs but I have it on good authority that they will be made known tomorrow.

AWK - Yes mate i am looking forward to it very much. I will be taking my luton gear and trying to get in the away changing rooms to pass off as a luton youth player!

Obviously not sure if they will send any first team down, nevertheless i am looking forward to it big style.

Coming over?

I'll definetly be there RobbieO, I try to make all the County Cup games involving Luton (though its just one a season now).

I would imagine that it will be quite a young side with a few players with first team experience like Keane and Stevens thrown in, as thats what Luton normally do in these games.

Good idea about the kit, I'll have to try that for an away game and follow the team in from the coach <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Yes RobbieO seems to know all the tricks of the trade, we'll see whether he notices me slipping something into his pre match tea on 13 September. Incidentally AWK what did you think of your Division 2 Cup draw at home to Flamstead, if you oblige you are at home again to Tring Corinthians and then at home again to Aston Clinton or Caddington or Mursley United, how is your home form generally.

Our home record isn't great Rhodes, we even managed to lose at home to Markyate last season but the main problem is getting a regular team on the pitch week in week out.

Quite pleased with Flamstead at home, we managed to win at each others grounds last season but its definitely winable (though i'd imagine they would be saying the same).

With regards to Biggleswade United's away form, they had the 7th best record in the Premier Division last season winning 9 and drawing 2 which gave them 29 points.

I'm not saying Biggleswade United are a bad side and okay maybe I was a little unfair to state they don't travel well but it has to be said that they went to Haringey Borough last season and lost 1-0 to a goal on just six seconds and were unable to get back into the game against the bottom team in the league. That would indicate that they are more than beatable on their travels and Kentish Town will be well up for the game on 13 September as I'm sure Edgware will be on 19 August at the White Lion.

It seem Biggleswade had an off day for that one Rhodes, though it can't help letting one in after just 6 seconds!!

I see you have my home town, er village team Cranfield United away in the Division One Cup, fancy your chance?

Yes well spotted AWK, I was only talking to our Chairman about the tie at Cranfield United yesterday and obviously we fancy our chances. Perhaps you might like to come along if you're free that night and I'll buy you a beer.

Paula, you're not coming onto Gavin are you, I didn't realise you had (sorry wrong word) Biggleswade United next week, I may well be down to spy on them for when we play them and can wine and dine you afterwards before you take me back to your gaff!
