CAUSEWAY UNITED 3 vs WILLENHALL TOWN 3

 

A crowd of 139 were treated to a stunning game of Alliance football when mid table United took a 3 goal lead into the dressing room at half time against 5th placed Town.

 

Willenhall dominated the first half limiting Causeway to just 4 breaks, 3 of which produced goals!.

 

Dixon grabbed the first goal, when his tight angle shot went in off the post. Ex-Red Coates piled the pressure on with the second goal on 35 minutes. Then Southwick bagged United's 3rd on 45 minutes.

 

Town put on sub Hay and on 48 minutes Quilt had snatched a goal back. The second half was end to end excitement and either team could have increased their goal tally. Quilt got his second on 79 minutes before Hay grabbed the goal of the match on 84 minutes.

 

The young striker cut in wide before skipping 3 challenges, looked up and unleashed a 20 yard volley into the top right hand corner of the United goal.

 

The Reds visit league leaders Oadby on Tuesday 7th Jan (7,45) before entertaining Barwell on Saturday 11th Jan. (3pm), both league games.

On the 15th Jan (7.45) they visit Studley for the 2nd Round of the League Cup.

 

With the fixtures starting to pile up due to the ropey weather Town have brought in, on loan from Bromsgrove Rovers, Paul Lloyd to boost the in-depth strength of the squad.
