The importance of todays win

I get the feeling it was all a bit understated today ,which may not be a bad thing.

We got the result thank goodness.

 

Hopefully some reports later.

 

Some will say the Trophy is not important.

 

i disagree-imagine how we would have felt if we had 2 cup exits in 8 days.

 

i think today was an important win for many reasons:

 

keeps the interest going in something other than the league through those dark november (and hopefully December days).

 

It must have taken a bit of pressure off RT, and young managers do not work well under too much pressure.

it will given the team a confidence boost.

 

it will bring a bit of money in, and ensure we have a game in a fortnights time.

 

Hopefully a kind home draw so we can get a win, progression and even though gate money is shared, a bit of revenue.

 

we are still hurting from the FA Cup defeat, but we are only two games away from an away tie at Oxford and the vital £15K share of ground receipts that would bring in, to make up for FA Cup too early and uneccesary exit.

 

we can get supporter interest going again.

 

success breeds success.this competition can complement our league progress-not hinder it.

 

Its alright saying it does not matter, but just think of the fun we can have if we are in 2nd round come end of January when we need something to keep the interest going.

 

we may even win the thing !!

 

Roll on the draw and lets hope we get a nice winnable -without [****!!****] ups-home tie

what was sensitive about that,i was just saying i have never had a nice trip to gravesend,especially when we went there for a capital league game and you couldn't even be bothered to provide a drink for the players,class club you lot!
