Great Wakering by Boat

Yesterday we had a delightful sail past Hullbridge and nearly made Battlesbridge we turned back when depth gauge showed 1.9 metres and we still had 1 mile to go. The tide was turning and I didn't fancy running out of water. Anyway the point is that the weather was very good until around 4:00pm and looking at the long range forecast it seems as though we could be in for a mild 31st with it starting to break on Wednesday so Lotus Eater will make her last voyage of the season to Great Wakering.

We have room for 1 more if anyone is interested. We have made the trip before stop at Barling Hall before lunch eat whilst aground and wait for the tide to lift us so we can take the dinghy to Barling Wharf. Visibility may be poor however so may decide to leave later to give fog and mist chance to lift. Walk into Great Wakering (Around 2 miles) and then back to sleep on the boat after the game. 3/4 moon so, hopefully, should be enough light to get back to the boat. If we are not too tired may move the boat into deeper water so that we do not ground whilst sleeping.

Leave the following morning to berth at Burnham around lunch on Wednesday - now what could be better.
