Gate 1-2 Rams

Bagleys miss was disgraceful it wasnt funny. If he thinks he's going to get into the fitst team with misses like that he needs to think again. He had acres of room to score into an empty net but chose to "show off" i.m.o & go round the keeper instead. He missed an extremely good chance in the first half too.Later just before he went down injured Trotty was trying to tell him something & he just argued back.Sorry but on what I saw of him tonight he needs a wake up call & needs bringing back down to earth. His attitude stinks from what I saw & I dont want any of this "but he's young". It dosent wash with me.If he wants a place in the first team then I suggest to him that he gets his act together & stops being selfish & changes his attitude. I'm sure theres a good player there but he needs to focus more & sometimes just DO the business & not try & make it any harder than what it already is.

Then there was Dan Dolton,a complete oppposite. He worked his socks off, troubled their defence on countless occasions, showed how to "stroke" the ball into the net & heeded everything that he was told by Trotty. Exceptional attitude by Danny & he has DEFINATELY put himself in the picture for a place on Saturday, again i.m.o.

The game itself saw an appearance for Ramsgate of our old mate Paul Lamb. Trotty & Scott played but apart from those two, plus Bagley & Dolton, all the others were youngsters.

A very enjoyable game all round. Margate took the lead (Dolton) but immediately after Ramsgate had heavy pressure inflicted on our defence. This was when THEY got a wake up call. Up until that first goal by the gate they hadnt really looked like scoring as we were the ones creating the better chances.

A penalty, well taken by Tako & then another goal, again well taken by Tako after a misplaced punch out from Scott in goal. Scott had a very good game apart from that & made a couple of excellent saves but apart from those couple of efforts he was being protected by the defence well. He too must have impressed the boss.

Going back to Tako he might not be to everyones liking, including mine, but he took his goals well, stood up to Trotty being all over him continuosly all game but still managed to do the simple things well.He impressed me tonight.

Gate pushed hard for an equaliser at the end & a draw would have been a fair result I think but the aggression of the Ramsgate players won the day for them.

Well worth the visit tonight & a good crowd of around about 130 must have gone home satisfied after having witnessed a good enjoyable game.

Was a good game Rob but disagree about laugh of the match. Mine was when Takalo went down in the penalty area claiming a penatly & Joseba shouts to him "if you want to dive like that the swimming baths are next door" A pure classic! Give Takalo his due he did look up and smile too! Good to see Rob at last too but I promise was only joking when I asked if we were going to duff you up at the end of the match! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Good report Tony though am not sure that Bagley was arguing with Trotty I believe he was just shouting out in pain after his ankle went from under him when shooting at goal. Ambulance was called after the game to whisk him away, looked quite a nasty injury so will probably be out for a while. Did anyone notice that Trotty played the through ball to Dalton for his goal, a classic touch from the gaffer. I didn't get a team sheet last night but from my past knowledge I believe the team was

1. Scott Chalmer stevens

2. Dan Allen

3.Brad Pettman

4.Luke Williams

5.Robin Trott

6.Adrian Heath (a trialist), who didnt look much & got injured too.

7. Jamie Stellon

8.Nick Bagley

9.Tom Hickman

10.Neil Hoggart (also got injured, arm)

11.Dan Dalton

I'm sure Reserveplayer will correct me if any of these are wrong and maybe who the subs were?

The time I saw Bagley answer back was before his injury.I was sitting in the stand he was verbally answering back to Trotty.Trotty was trying to tell him something at the time.Trotty even took a few steps forward because of it & I thought for a second that he was going to go to him & give him some real words of advice.Considering all that Trotty stands for in his managerial role I doubt Bagleys mouth will have done him any good whatsoever last night.Pity really as during the game Bagley had some nice touches & he clearly has above average abilty.

I'm sure Trotty wouldnt take that from a seasoned pro let alone an up & coming youngster.Anyway enough of all that.

I enjoyed the game a lot last night.Nice to see Rob not gloating too.Growing up are we Rob?

Sorry Tony I stand corrected I thought you meant when he was down injured. I agree he must curb this type of behaviour as I do believe he will get better and better the more experience and growing up he does. Rob did do a great one at end of the game when he shouted out "Come on you Reds" and was promptly called a twat by the choir as of course the Rams were playing in green. Another funny moment.

Very good Alan however there were a few times I kept shouting "come on you blues" so seems I am in the same class as Rob then(cant believe I just said that) as we were in Black & Amber.I seem to be so used to saying that that I couldnt even correct myself after the first time of saying it. Old habits die hard. l.o.l.

Odd comments re:Heath.

Maybe he had an off night.

Previous reports detailed him as definately one capable of making the step up to Ryman level.

For me though(and admittedly i've only seemn him play 25 minutes)Luke Williams looked a class act.

Its a bit like driving a car though-you don't need a long test drive-you know if its any good after 2 minutes.

Some might say its the same when dating !!

Anyway, that aside how did Luke Williams play last night ?

Am not sure if this was the same Heath MM. I was told by our secretary that this was his first game for us. Seemed to duck out of 50/50 balls from what I saw. Went off limp but I could imagine him wanting to get off the park as it all seemed too heavy for him, again, from what I saw.He Didnt seem up for it!

He must be a different Heath surely. This Heath was playing mid-field to forward & the other one,if I'm correct was a centre back.Shame he wasnt a player in the class of his namesake from years gone by. Confirmation from reserveplayer would be a help on this one.Doubt we'll be seeing him again somehow, injury or no injury.

p.s. First impressions are sometimes deceiving MM.

Well, as a new spectator to the reserves I was very impressed with the standard of play, the atmosphere in the ground, and the facilities available.

Would definitely go again if I could not get to an away match, or if I wanted a bit of midweek footie to liven things up.

Interesting that we had a good crowd of easily 130 there, some clubs in our league would take that for a first team on a Saturday.
