Manor v Potton FA Vase replay

Recommended Posts

At the moment our FA vase replay is scheduled for 8pm tomorrow (Monday) at Grosvenor vale though obviously it's still a bit wet round here so the game could yet be off especially if we get any more rain.

I won't be able to post on here until about 6pm if the game is off, so unless Spider or MB100 do, rhodes if you are going to grace us with your presence then I suggest you check the Ruislip Manor FC web-site as that will be more upto date.

Thanks but hopefully Potters Bar Town will be kind enough to text me if he hears the game is off during the course of the day, my number is in the Herts FA handbook. I am hoping to get there if I can.

Pitch Inspection Update

Mr Wes 'Hair' Linden Cliff Thomas style in wellington boots and with an umbrella has just finished kicking a ball across the hallowed turf of Grosvenor Vale. But despite the groundstaff being all over the pitch like a rash and pulling up trees to get the game on. All our Christmas's have not come at once, and he's called the game off. Game will now be played on Wednesday (weather permitting).

Still at work and seen Spidermanor's post to save me travelling, many thanks, I didn't think you cared! Was Wes going to be the Referee then or did he just carry out the inspection, I take it that Potton haven't already set out.

I think Wednesday could be the same with a late afternoon decision. If Wednesday is off not sure of a further re-arrangement, it could even be Saturday though more likely a week tonight (Monday 4th)

Saturday is possible but unlikely

True it better not be Saturday though for AWKS sake. and also because it will possibly involve complicated redirection of the Polacy from CLaremont Road to Grosvenor Vale.

Nearly right! Football boots, not wellingtons. (Note to self - must take old football boots to do pitch inspections instead of my nice clean boots).

And I'd like to say there was a mass of groundstaff trying to get the game on. However...!!

By the way - who is/was Cliff Thomas?

Come on Hair, Cliff is quite obviously the welsh spelling of 'Clive', thought everyone knew that!

ps blame Lato.

Ah Cliff Thomas...bit of a mad moment there I was thinking of how a particular SSML club secretary would describe an over officious Welsh referee of the 1970s doing an pitch inspection and sort of amalgamated the names.
