It's like one of those made-up northern names. Like Heckmondwicke or Bingley.

I'm going to have to go home and look in in a road map now, but there's loads of silly names in Yorkshire.

It's Heckmondwyke and I live near there (only work in Halifax). All you need to know Invis is M1, M62 surely you don't need a map for that!!!!!!!! BTW where's Invisible Firstborn this evening?

Don't encourage him for goodness' sake, I was enjoying the freedom!

He's either:
a) at work (unlikely);
B) asleep (possible)
c) in the pub (likely)
d) eating (very likely)
e) molesting some poor unsuspecting young floozy (probable)
f) embezzling the funds for c), d) and/or e) (almost certain)
g) any combination of the above.

I too am likely to be indulging in c) very soon, with a bit of luck.

M62, yes I've heard of that. It's the only thing that Yorkshire and Lancashire have in common, isn't it?

Gosh and I'm on my second glass of wine already. I'll leave you alone cos you're obviously wasting valuable drinking or driving time!!

No, and I don't either. You ought to be ashamed of yourself JR!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

When I drive over towards Oldham I go over Saddleworth Moor and to be honest it always feels slightly eerie.

I used to have to travel from Holmfirth, generally North West once a month in my old days 'on the road'.

I totally agree with you ! I used to use that route over the moor on fine days, and I must say the experience was always chilling, to say the least.

Another route that always made me turn cold was travelling North West from Merthyr in South Wales, up the Rhonda through Quakers Yard, with Aberfan cemetary across the valley to the left. Those pure white arched headstones of all those poor little children always bought tears to my eyes. They always seemed to shine pure white, even on very murky days. Spooky !!
