BALL BOYS

Under Butts and a few times when jL was here, some of the youth teams did ball boy duty for the first team on Saturdays. Any reason why this stopped? Can it be set up again? i am sure the offer of a drink and a hot dog would do the trick. As well as getting the lads involved on first team match days.

 

Ps I know Jamie and his mate help out when they can, which is great!

Longer standing fans will remember that my 3 lads did this for a while in return for a half time mars bar and bottle of pepsi - always much appreciated. Unfortunately the jungle area always proved a bit challenging, even when I dipped in to help them!

 

I also remember when I came down quite often to watch the reserves under Bill Simpson, one of the subs was always despatched to fetch a ball that strayed over the fence, and whilst I think it is worth considering re-instating - they might risk injury in the jungle, as from recent experience I can vouch for the fact that underneath the dense overgrowth there are lots of places where the ground simply dips sharply or that attractive looking plank moves under your weight.
