Lowest crowd ever for a Trophy final

Recommended Posts

Gazza seems quite unbelievably unintelligent. Earlier, I could quite easily of said he seemed like one of the most intelligent and sensible posters Billericay as ever had (Too few posts I'd read!)

Just another one of 'em!

On another note:

I loved this place to death when I joined, now it just seems like a slagging match. Oh well, time shows these things I suppose - Maybe it's time to depart.

I REALLY, really hate Billericay and Southend more than ever, and I sure hope they're proud. Afterall, it seems these tossers get a kick out of being stupid. Southend, and Billericay have both had terrible seasons, Southend sitting in the relegation for too long for their liking I'm sure, and Billericay being... Billericay.

Neither team has triumphed this year, far from it. Maybe had they of won something, and THEN started all this, I would feel it partly fair. They would be excited, and quite a good reason they had to be, but the fact that they both did so terribly s|-|it makes me wonder exactly why they have to say such things - Becuase we lost one sodding game?

We lost to Billericay, fair enough, we'd won the league, half the players were out and it was just a bad match all round for us. Well done 'Ricay!

As for Southend, we were obviously the underdogs, being two divisions below, they narrowly beat us by a goal in the dying minutes, and suddenly they're the best team in the country! Oh well, shows just how clever you all are.

Big deal, here's the Conference, we got what we wanted this season, we achieved it, and in style at that. I can't wait for the new season, and it's just a shame that most of these comments will come through most of pre-season, as we wont have any matches to win, leaving the fans chewing their tongues.

Obviously someone/everyone will disagree with me here, I'm just stating my opinion... I hope this forum manages to get back to what it once was, and that these unintelligent comments from unregistered users stop flying in.

I wish both Billericay and Southend all my bad luck for next season, not that they're going to need it of course!

Canvey til' I die, and proud!

Personally, I'd prefer Canvey be chasing us up through the Football League divisions than occasional cup-ties or pre-season friendlies. A bit of rivalry is good and would reflect well on South Essex football.

But here's the difference YA. I honestly don't care what anyone else thinks of me. This is a message board full of anonymous users or posters with names not remotely similar to their own. I therefore can't and don't take any abuse personally - how can you when people don't know you personally?

For what it's worth, Southend had a pretty decent second half of the season, moving steadily up the league and getting to Cardiff. Beating Canvey was some way below our resurgent league form and our LDV Cup run, in my view, so I'd hardly say we thought we were best in the country by winning at Park Lane.

It's a shame you look upon football as a rather simplistic excuse to hate others as the aim of team sport is to bring people together in healthy competition. Still, perhaps I expect too much from people when we have a media with a "winning is everything, second is nothing" attitude.

In response to your avatar: Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees...

I think you've caught the wrong end of me, I wouldn't mind people with a slight form of intelligence saying something about the club, but when it's just a witty comment like: 'ur pickies' (Yep, spelt like that.) From your fans when we lost to ya.

Oh well, I guess no complaining will get rid of it, so I guess it's time to return to normal.

Bless you too sir, I forgive you for that last comment as I know you didn't really mean it.

We can but live in hope that the nasty Jeff 'I own half the island' King does see the light and reduces those outragous admission prices thus enabling more of you islanders admission into Essex's answer to the San Siro.

I share your sadness at losing to Hednesford although you may take great comfort from the fact that they have now overtaken Gravesend in becoming everybodys second favourite team.

Bless you my child and welcome back from your ecclesiatic retreat. I continue to pray that nasty Mr King will reduce the prices at that horrid Park Lane so that you might feel more comfortable coming over to visit us and perhaps spare alms for the poor islanders. It is part of your missionary duty you know RJS, to bring some light to us heathens living in the Thames Estuary.

Thank you for your enlightened contribution and for pointing out the error of our pikey ways. Please remember us in your prayers; that we may seek the same sort of salvation as you.

Please keep your erudite contributions coming. Must admit though, you haven't really got into gear yet. These postings are way below par. Have you been ill? Nothing trivial I hope.

So Mr Rotten Johhny, want do you think of Hornchurch FC? I'd thought I'd ask you this question seeing as you have a hatred for clubs who buy success. But I suppose you're too scared to venture on their forum in case you get set upon by a load of Chavs!

How could anybody dislike a club that until recently was managed by that charming Mr Borg?

So I take it you dislike them as well? Seeing that the Urchins are throwing vast amounts of money in an attempt to get into the Conference National I'm not surprised you have this deep hatred for them. Or maybe you just hate Essex clubs then?

Seeing as earlier this season you were part of the 'Andy Ford out' brigade I really think you don't have many friends amongst Gravesend supporters. Have they shunned you or something or are you really a Dartford supporter?

As for GNFC.....it seems censorship will be reigning supreme over there!

Perhaps RJS could enlighten us further?

Woah there CIFC and hold your horses.

If ya reffering to the "sinking" post, then tounge was firmly in cheek. There is also the reference to "Pikies"...well some bright spark from Canvey reffers to us as "Gypos" and we don't get that steamed up...certainly not to the extent of "hating" you...well I don't (can't speak for the others).

Hand on heart, yep I cheered the Hendersford goals when watching the Final but freely admitted that the Trophy Final was a great advert for the Non League game when you compare it to last Saturday's F A Cup final. And I also praised Canvey's part in it. And if you'd won the game I would've done the same (through gritted teeth, you understand).

As for "hating", dear me. I have a dislike for some on this forum (as they do for me) but hating? Nope. Their world view is different and try as I might, I can't see it. They insist (in the same superior way that I do when putting a point over, I suppose) their way is the best and we will forever be at loggerheads...And long may it continue....It'll be a boring world if we all had the same view, wouldn't it?

The same applies with banter...insults are thrown to provoke a reaction...I'm sure if you'd beaten us on the glorious Bank Holiday Monday (he, he, he...), you would've joined in the taunting of a poor Billericay season at the ground and on the forum...but I will admit there are those that hide behind a name, that just come on here to take the piss. As moderator of the 'Ricay site, I've never seen 'em before and I'm very doubtful they are really 'Ricay supporters...But that happens when two teams have a history of rilvary...people will jump on the band wagon for "fun".

Cor, I can remember the early days of the "Ryman" forum when CANV and I really had a go at each other, tearing lumps out of each other...and on our club forums...to such an extent that, when you came down to play us, quite a few 'Ricay supporters thought we'd meet and continue the arguement but in a more physical manner. As it happened we didn't meet (still haven't) and if we did, I would've bought him a pint. And I would do the same to anyone that came up and introduced themselves to me from this forum, whatever we've said on this forum.

Anyway, that's my view. I'm sure someone will come along and tear peices out of it, but hey ho....

It's part of life I'm afraid. Then I was just a supporter and I never stayed after the game due to "family" commitments. Now it is different and you are two leagues above us and we won't meet until the season after next

i love beer and am just back from 5 pints of pride.. lovely!

i will endeavour to meet the gaz at some stage next season, maybe when we are playing in some far flung foreign field on a tuesday night and the ricay have an important match at home (if they ever get to play in an important match again ;-) )

as for the abuse bit, bothered.. gazza n ryan .c etc have been dishing it out and recieving for years, who cares its all part of the fun, drunken rantings posted at 1.30 am, reasonable questions that are shat on.. does anyone really care that much? at least canvey can generate enough intrest to get get some wierdos on here..

mm maybe ill pop over to the riccay forum to give them some much neglected relegation abuse before the pride (thats london pride by the way) wears off.. plus im in the big apple for the next few days so i wont see the fallout

Any room in here for a soon to be banned GNFC supporter who dared to point out a fault on their directions map?
