It's been some time since some new chat was started in the good old saloon bar,

so...................

OK - I know it's the second series running on the Beeb at the moment, but I just thought I'd say how much I enjoy Craig Cash's 'Early Doors', which all takes place in "The Grapes" boozer.

Such a mix of people with no particular story line, but, Oh so true of northern pubs. Very much like the format used in "Dads Army" with all the different characters and their differing prsonalities.

Like last night ! Old Tommy, the ancient retired misery-guts moaning at having to get up early to go to work !

"I go to work to make money, NOT friends !" He moaned.

"I bl**dy hate 'em !" He says, as he stand up to leave and picks up his Crossing Officers 'Lollipop Stick'.

It's the best thing on TV. The first series was pure gold but am unable to see the second series yet. I'll wait for the DVD.
