Heard this was the case some time ago. If it's not cost effective to open the away end due to lack of away support - just like Exeter last year.

 

So to compensate they charge you an extra two quid to pay Derby stewards who tell you to sit down in the stand throughout the game.

 

Just like Exeter last year, I won't give a monkeys if we win 1-0 and bring the points back to the Lane.

I very much struggle to pay the weekly cost at Canvey, let alone that. I'm a student, but studying at a small college that doesn't supply Student cards so therefore can't get a student discount, and I live off £30 a week, also as much rent as I can afford. A total shame really that, for the first time in my 5 years of supporting I won't be able to attend every home game this season. Those poxy prices just constantly go up and the crowd seems to get much smaller. Think it's about time a discussion went on as people will no doubt start turning to Southend even more as their tickets are probably around the same price as ours and they're now two divisions above.

Apply for an NUS or Connextions Card - The Club accept these.

I'm a student and i make a hell of a lot more than 30 quid a week mate and i'm only part time. Start looking for a better part time job.

 

Not having a go or anything, just saying that 30 quid is pis poor mate and there is much better out there if you look. The work might not be great but its all for Canvey, innit?

 

But also, 14 quid is bloody steep.

Most non-league gate people wouldn't know a student card if it twatted them in the face, I flashed my rail photo card at every conf south game last season and got in for half price!

Just take something with a photo on it.

 

One St.Albans fan famously got in for free at Basingstoke by flashing his private health card!
