They have a good team going forward but there finishing lacked it may improve when eastwood plays. I think they will do ok but cause they only have a small ground they might stuggle getting the money for players wages so they cant attract big players well anyway best of luck hope you do well

I think you're well out there. They played a reserve team last night with a couple of regulars (Campbell-Ryce/Jay Smith) and a couple of squad players (Lawson/Cole). The team we played last night is nothing like the team Southend will start with on Saturday and I can't believe for a second that people are talking about it as if we beat a Championship side.

Technically we did, but if Southend played that squad in the Championship, they would be slaughtered weekly. Remember, their first team hammered Wakering 7-0 a couple of weeks ago. There is no way those are the same two teams.

As much as I agree that that was nowhere near their strongest team, it was still much stronger than us on paper. 7 of their starting XI played in League 1 last season, with Gary Hooper being one of the most highly rated players in the Conference.

As Ribbit & Ronin say, no comparison can be drawn between that team and the one they'll play in the season. Flahavan, Sodje, Prior , Guttridge, Eastwood, Bradbury, Maher and others would all step in.

However, let's not take that away from the boys, they punched well above their weight and won in great style!

Of course. I still expected us to lose and I'm still surprised we didn't. We played well, but they could have put four or five away with the chances they had.

Quite, but that's football!

Roll on Saturday!
