Mersthams opponents for the next round has now changed to Pickering Town.

 

An FA Vase Sub-Committee meeting held on Friday 4 January 2008 considered the inclusion of Rob Northen who played in the tie for Winterton Rangers whilst under suspension by the Lincolnshire FA.

 

After serious consideration, the Sub-Committee decided that Winterton Rangers have breached The FA Vase Rules by playing an ineligible player in the tie as the player was under suspension.

 

The Sub-Committee decided in accordance with its discretionary powers that Winterton Rangers are removed from the Competition and that Pickering Town are reinstated. The prize fund payment of £1,200 is now forfeit.

 

No order was made as to costs and no fine imposed as removal from the Competition is deemed sufficient punishment.

 

The FA Carlsberg Vase Fourth Round Proper tie will now be Merstham v Pickering Town to be played on Saturday 19 January 2008.
