No...they have had a fantastic season but nowhere near the same quality as previous League winners over the past 5/6 years IMO!

Best side this year though, Ryman North awaits

Exactly my previous point on another thread JJ.

As good as they are, they can't hold a candle to last season's Concord, or the previous season's Brentwood side.

Gonna be sorry to see them leave the ESL though. frown

Well, they might not be the best football side in the league but they have been the most consistent. You don't go all those games unbeaten if you haven't got a good and close group of players. What amazes me and that's why you have to give credit to them,it is contrary to Brentwood,Concord and Hornchurch they haven't got 3-4 top strikers with 20 goals. The goals have come from everywhere and their top goalscorer is an attacking left back invented a la Sharpe(Kavanagh). So a pat on the back to the management as well.

At the start of the season Magic told me and MCP he was going to have 3 up front and they were going to be Brian Sutchley, Manzi Mbala and Paul Kavanagh. We thought he was mad. He wasn't.

Magic is a brilliant Manager and one of the straightest and honest guys I know. When Reedy left I was gutted. If anyone could take his place then Magic could. I know The Board didn't consider anybody else. And I know when Reedy told them he was jacking it in he felt Magic should get the job.

Well done mate! Lordy, brycie, Pete, cliff and Chris as well You've done a brilliant job this season. Even if the wheels come off now you have done a brilliant job. bisou

To be honest.. I wasn't over happy when PM got the job last year, but I will hold my hand up and say the boy has done good.. 40 league games in charge now.. with only two defeats. There maybe a few bob flying around this season, I am not aware if there is, but not in the same bracket as the previous three title winners. Still eight games to go, but after yesterday's performance, feeling a bit more confident now...

Your point is well made Coachie. I'm not detracting from Romford's achievement or record, just saying that this was always likely to be their season, the opposition is not as strong as in recent seasons.

Enfield 1893 have lost some key players, including Sherwin Stanley, Eton Manor lost quite a few to Tilbury and Barkingside, Southend Manor and Bowers & Pitsea are in a transitional period.

Let's just say the stars were alligned!!

One which i remember his 1st game for us the ressies( 10 years ago as a 17 years old lad), has pace and is a right winger, the other is a centre half not mobile but strong and good in the air,and Kavanagh is the tactical balance for the 3 central midfielders, either a third forward or a fourth midfielder when they are under the cosh..simple football innit?

Hookey i think the league is stronger this year. There are not easy games and as proved during the week by Romford and Hullbridge, the top half is as good as the bottom half of the Ryman 1 north.Bowers,Barkingside are in a transitional period but Takeley,Enfield,Southend Manor,Eton Manor, Basildon and Stansted are good sides.
