The draw has recently been made for the First Round of the competition which historically takes place the week before the first Saturday of the new SSML campaign:

Royals26 - This date was put up on the another site by an anorak called Nervous Rec, he seems to know his onions so I would be surprised if he's mistaken, the Football Mitoo and Herts FA sites have both been known to be wrong before.

The Sun Postal website also shows 3rd Aug - don't know where Rhodes got 31st July from.

.. does indeed look as if it got put on Tony K first, at the start of the month, so possibly where the info on here originated and not, as I first thought, the other way round?

 

- maybe it has changed back to 3/8 as both Mitoo and Herts FA suggest.

 

I agree the FA site isn't always the most reliable though.

 

I couldn't find a current Sun Postal website nor could I find a working Hatfield one. :doh:

 

So is it safe to assume there ISN'T a Shield match @ Sun Postal tomorrow? :grin:

 

... for 'new' grounds, I'm probably 'stuck' with SSM on Sat. anyway but since I'd like to try and avoid the M25 altogether my choice is limited. Doubtless I'll plump for the game at Buck. Athletic and spend all afternoon sat on the M40!

Harpenden Town 2 v 4 Tring Athletic

 

Just home from a good Tring win against a spirited Harpenden side,who took a 2 nil lead early on. Tring stepped up a gear in the 2nd half with 2 goals from captain Graham Hall and 1 for Vinny Innaone and Tony Fields, A good start for Athletic who still have 5-6 players unavailable due to holidays and injurys ! Shane Wood (Dunstable) and Ryan Redford(Hertford,Biggleswade) look 2 very good signings !!!
