My first friend at school, who I've known for 46 years, phoned up tonight to tell me his wife is having their first child through IVF. My mate's a bookie and, when he told me the baby's due date was April 8th, I said "Hang on, that's close to the Grand National, I'll look it up on the net". I found out and said, "You're okay, the National's on April the 5th, your baby's due on a Tuesday". His answer? "That's my quiz night". I'm still shaking and crying with laughter half an hour later.
