Bognor Regis Town

Well, it must have been bad.

That is the most critical and "down beat" I have seen from EU on this forum.

Some radical action required or October will see Town down in the bottom 4 zone.

I'm not down beat and i'm not criticising the manager/coaching staff.

I stress it is the players who need to be standing and be counted in our next home game v Billericay. The shameful thing is our inspiration on Saturday came from a young new summer signing where you'd expect your 'established' players to be leading the way.

The supporters need a response from the playing field not off it.

CDT-Yes of Course the management team are responsible for the results and at present we are 3pts better off than the drop zone. Their are currently worse off clubs than ourselves at the moment.

Whether people on this forum like it or not we are as other clubs are, are as strong as the budget allows the team/squad to be. We could be a bit higher up the league but for the unfortunate Bury Town decision, but we are not.

Also responsible are the supporters which include the board who give up alot of their free time running the club. What have the supporters done to attract more sponsorship? Bring in a few more friends/work colleagues to matches, answer small but important calls for sellers of Golden Goal Tickets, even to book or hire the Butlers for a birthday or other suitable occassion so that the club can raise profile and make some further positive strides in revenue raising. We even have had supporters withdraw their sponsorship money cos they have the 'hump' with individuals, it's their choice, but they lose a large part of their argument when we are short of some success.

It is all relevant and as stated Money is at the head of it.

The management/Coaches have to becareful that the supporters are getting value for their entrance fee and we can't complain at Donkey Lane, we have played Hornchurch, Margate Met Police and Lowestoft all of which have bags of money compared to us and have lost only one of these games.

At Bognor we were dreadful in the first half, but the manager got a reaction for the second half, we pulled a goal back from Corey and he should have had a second a couple of minutes later when 1v1 with the keeper. It's not Steve's fault he missed that chance and neither was it when Kirbs gave the ball away 5 mins later for their striker to walk past Wildy to score. The fifth goal summed up some of our players lak of responsibilty and this is where I highlight that 'responsibility' factor again.

We will see the reaction we get from the players on Saturday v Billericay, but fans need to be supporting the manager/coaches and players all the way, we will have poor spells in the game and good ones, so lets all get behind the team and bark them on.

Well said EU.

We all know that there is a lot of talent in the squad. Perhaps we'll see a change or two in where individuals are playing (Kirby in defence?), and hopefully some team spirit with players and management talking to each other and encouraging each other. And, as you mentioned, taking some responsibility.

It's been a very bad run, but then it always looked that way on paper. Let's see how we get on this Saturday - maybe even a clean sheet as well?

EU.

In one post you indicate that some players lack responsibility on the field and in the next you say money is at the heart of it. Surely it cannot be both as responsibility shouldn't be linked to money otherwise nothing would get done. If the players are receiving renumeration for playing, then they should be committed at all times. If they are not, then Steve should try players who will give 100%.
