HR,

If I understand what you are saying correctly, both clubs are effectively being offered 26,500 tickets each.

They have both had average league match attendances of around 7,000, so aren’t all fans with a genuine connection to these clubs guaranteed a ticket?

Also, from what you are saying aren’t those 53,000 tickets more than 10% higher than the best ever National League play-off final?

The last final of two clubs with average attendances over 8,000 was Notts County v Chesterfield in 2023, & that had an attendance of 38,000.

So, in my personal opinion, it’s all a storm in a teacup.

"Fans with a genuine connection"? I think we're entering can of worms territory here.

No because there’s nearly 4 times the amount of what both clubs average throughout the season. So every regular, casual and even lapsed fan should be able to get a ticket as long as both clubs don’t foolishly offer too many tickets per transaction. You wait after all this commotion the crowd will be lower than the tickets allocated!!!

Curtis, the clubs are being given 17,500 tickets each.

These are going on sale today for their season ticket holders.

Southend I believe have over 4,000 season ticket holders, Oldham  over 3,000.

Season ticket holders can buy up to 4 tickets each.

If every season ticket holder bought only 3 tickets (one for themselves and 2 for family/mates) that is a massive chunk out of that 17,500 figure.

This extra 9,000 tickets that  each club can get relies on these additional  fans going by official coaches.

If you say 50 people on each coach, then that is 180 coaches for each club to arrange at very short notice to be able to use this allocation of tickets.

A lot of Southend and Oldham fans had their own plans on how to spend next weekend which did not expect to be dependant on this last minute arrangement.

Glen says that there is " nearly 4 times the amount (of tickets on offer) of what both teams are averaging throughout the season."

So on that basis with our average attendance of 900 we should be happy only being given less than 3,600 tickets  and no more if we were to get to a FA Trophy final ?

When getting to Wembley, Oldham and Southend fans thought the least of their worries would be if they would get a ticket for a match in a 90,000 capacity stadium.

I really hope every regular, casual and lapsed Southend and Oldham fan gets a ticket.

And we're not even mentioning those neutral fans like me, who would want to go.

Bracknell are obviously paying decent money but for Alfie Pavey his interests outside of football are the reasons why he's going from full time to part time.

On the player himself imo his reputation is a bit over hyped as his goal scoring record over the course of his career suggests.

For anyone who may be interested, after just one day selling tickets to their season ticket holders only, Southend sold 12,500 of the 17,500 tickets they have been given.

Oldham sold 10,500 of their 17,500 allocation, again after just one day selling to season ticket holders only.

An Oldham supporter whom I know from social media has said there were problems with the club's online booking systems yesterday too.

If anybody isn't interested in the Southend v Oldham ticket debacle don't read on.

Just to say that the official Southend club website has said at about 1.45pm today, (the first day that tickets have gone on general sale),

"We have 5,000 tickets left.

There are 600 supporters queuing in the club car park  to get tickets in person at the clubs ticket office, and a further 8,000 people queueing online.

We are confident we could sell in excess of 35,000. "

Wealdstone have mutually parted with their manager mainly due to the fact he lives in Wales and can’t afford to move closer. Plus the board have reduced the playing budget for next season.

Reducing the playing budget after they survived by a single point by winning their last match of the season…. their fans won’t feel very optimistic about the new season.

Ex Rebel and striker Malachi Linton and Centre Back Jordon Thomson have just announced their departure from Weymouth.

Both have expressed a wish stay at step 2 and to play nearer to home.
