Hawfinches

While out cycling on Sunday morning I passed a fairly large group of twitchers at the roadside at Bramfield near Hertford. Four hours later when I passed by the other way, they were still there, so i stopped to ask them what was causing the excitement. Hawfinch was the reply, but we haven't seen them yet! On checking the internet I see that they cause this excitement most years at this time/ location.

Very rare and elusive nowadays and even if you know where a few are they don't always turn up lol
