FF News
The `Foreign Legion` at Vanarama Conference North club Oxford City has increased by two more following the arrival of Portuguese forward Paulo Mendes and Ivory Coast winger Helge Orme. Mendes, 21, came through a top football academy in Lisbon and has played first and second division football in Portugal before coming to England, where he has had spells with Nantwich Town, Vauxhall Motors and Colwyn Bay. He had a couple of trial games with Bay in the summer and impressed then manager Frank Sinclair in a game against Wrexham. Mendes` favourite position is left-wing but he is also happy to play as an attacking midfielder or forward. He was released by new Bay boss Gus Williams last month. Orome, 23, featured prominently for the Ivory Coast under-21s during the Festival International Espoirs in France in 2011 while playing for Croydon Athletic. Moves to Horsham and Sutton United was followed by a spell at Bromley. He then turned out for Margate, Cray Wanderers and Grays Athletic..
