Former London FA chairman and FA councilor Stan Nathan will be buried on Sunday at the Hoop Lane Cemetary in Golders Green.

A well known figure in the Ryman League after a long and distinguished career in football, Mr Nathan, pictured, passed away last Saturday aged 88 and will be laid to rest at 10.30am.

A qualified referee who went on to train hundreds of others over half a century of service, he was elected chairman of the London FA in 1982, a position he held until 1995.

In 1991 he was awarded the FA Referee Association’s long service award and in 2007 received The FA 50 year meritorious long service award, the honour coming seven years after he stood down as the London FA's representative on the FA council.

To help the Nathan family with numbers, mourners who expect to attend the funeral are asked to contact his family in advance at: george@dorling.biz.
