Spennymoor Town have today revealed a new signing to the first team squad.

First team manager Jason Ainsley said ‘Today we can announce that Reece Kenney has agreed to sign a contract with the club, he trained all last pre-season with us and looked a real prospect and the year he has had with Carl in the Wearside league has helped him develop both physically and mentally.

We believe Reece is ready to compete for a First team place and at 19 he has all the attributes to push on this season. As a management team we have monitored him all season and it shows if you work hard and focus you will be given an opportunity.’

Carl Beasley, Reserve Team Manager added ‘Congratulations to Reece on signing his contract with the club as he thoroughly deserves it. He has come through the youth set up from under 18s into the reserve team and gone from strength to strength.

In the two seasons he has been with me I can't remember a training session he has missed and the hard work and dedication he puts into his football is paying off. I have no doubt that he will make big strides next season and playing with more experienced players will bring the best out if him.

He was reserve team club captain last year and we have signed not only a top player but also a down to earth lad with a bright future ahead of him.’
