this Saturday it's back to Herts Senior County League Division Three action and a trip to Harpenden Rovers, kick off 2.30pm

Sarratt Reserves go to Cravells Road tomorrow to take on Harpenden Rovers in a Herts Senior County League Division Three fixture hoping to improve on last Saturday's disappointing 4-0 Cecil Hudson Cup Second Round home defeat to Chipperfield Corinthians Reserves although, to be fair, their opponents do play a division higher, the 2-1 League defeat at Lemsford Reserves the week before was also a disappointment after Craig Peterson had hit the net early on. The First team meanwhile have a tricky looking home SSML Division Two fixture with New Bradwell St Peter who got their first win of the campaign last week under new boss Jamie Green however a repeat of the last home performance against Mursley United, or anything like it, will see Martin Loakes men take three points:

Sarratt triumphed 3-2 on Saturday at the King George V Playing Fields against New Bradwell St Peter however that only tells half the story with the interval score 3-2 and the visitors wondering how they didn't come away with a point, or even all three. New Bradwell St Peter took an early lead which was soon pegged back to level terms with Sarratt then taking the lead, boss Martin Loakes won't have been happy with Jamie Green's men equalising but at least Club funds were saved on tea cup breakages at the interval when Sarratt retook the lead just before the break. It was a good day for the Club with the Reserve team coming away from Harpenden Rovers with all three points following a 2-1 Herts Senior County League Division Three win with goals from Swaley Smith and substitute Jordan Standley, next Saturday the Reserves entertain Hinton whilst the First team go to the salubrious surroundings of Kings Langley's Orbital Fasteners Stadium to take on Berkhamsted Raiders and Martin Loakes will be confident of another three points with their opponents currently in some disarray.

Sarratt will fancy their chances this afternoon when they make the trip to the palatial Orbital Fasteners Stadium to take on Berkhamsted Raiders who are going through a difficult time at present with popular Manager Lee Groves walking away from the Club just a month into the new campaign. The Reserves will also be hoping for three points against Hinton Reserves in a Herts Senior County League Division Three fixture at the King George V Playing Fields and could well top the table this evening if other results go their way. The young side have a number of players who can find the net and are not just reliant on two or three as is often the case, so far nine different players have netted this term in just six League fixtures and only in the slightly disappointing 4-0 Cecil Hudson Cup Second Round home defeat to Chipperfield Corinthians Reserves have they failed to score:

A disappointing afternoon for Sarratt on Saturday who failed to put up much, if any, resistence at Berkhamsted Raiders who led 2-0 at the break and went on to win 5-0, Martin Loakes will be hoping for a lot better next week (31 October) at the King George V Playing Fields however unfortunately his side meet with Pitstone & Ivinghoe who can do no wrong at present and have maximum points. The Reserve side had a much better day and beat Hinton Reserves 4-0 in a Herts Senior County League Division Three fixture to move within one point of leaders Hatfield Athletic, Swaley Smith, Jamie Speer, Geri Soni and Alejandro Vivado all netted and they travel to Abbots Langley next Saturday to take on Evergreen FC Reserves.

Both the Sarratt First team and Reserve team were all dressed up with nowhere to go this afternoon as their fixtures at the King George V Playing Fields against high flying Pitstone & Ivinghoe and at Evergreen FC respectively were called off due to waterlooged pitches. They both try again next Saturday (7 November) when the First team entertain MK Gallacticos whilst the Reserve side  travel to Hemel Hempstead Rovers Reserves for a Herts Senior County League Division Three fixture where, despite not playing today, they are still just one point off the top of the table:

Credit to the Herts Senior County League for re-starting their campaign yesterday afternoon, unlike other League's who will remain nameless, high flying Sarratt Reserves entertained Hemel Hempstead Rovers Reserves in a Division Three fixture resulting in an exciting 2-2 stalemate, Craig Petersen netted both goals. Next Saturday (12 December) sees Sarratt Reserves travel to the Birchwood Leisure Centre to take on Hatfield Town Under 23's, they then entertain bottom of the table Stanmore Jafferys FC the following Saturday (19 December) who have lost all their League games thus far. Following the enforced lockdown period the First Team do not return to SSML Division Two action until Saturday 19 December when they travel to Icknield Way to meet Tring Corinthians AFC, that surely won't please boss Martin Loakes who would have much preferred to roll up his sleeves next Saturday and it now leaves his men with just that one game prior to a nine day Yuletide lay off before travelling to Bovingdon on Monday 28 December and then entertaining Aston Clinton on Saturday 2 January, weather permitting.

Here we go folks, idyllic photographs of Sarratt as a place, it's such a shame that you just make a b line for the football ground isn't it when visiting these places particulary in Division Two:

An interesting match programme from 1991 and a Herts Senior County League Division One fixture between B.A.C. FC and Sarratt, does anybody remember any of the Sarratt players:

Unfortunately the 2020/21 SSML season has been unceremoniously 'curtailed' as was officially announced by the FA last Wednesday that 'Steps 3-6 will be curtailed' although, in the case of the Herts Senior County League, who appear to have jumped the gun, it has already been declared null and void with no promotion or relegation taking place, the League are preparing to run an end of season League Cup competition for all its Divisions. That includes Division Three where, as was also the case last season, Sarratt Reserves campaign is at a sad premature end after just nine League fixtures with their last outing on Saturday 12 December in a disappointing 4-1 defeat at Hatfield Town Under 23's having drawn 2-2 against Hemel Hempstead Rovers Reserves the week prior to that at the King George V Playing Fields. That followed a ridiculous six week lay off between 24 October and 5 December without kicking a ball in anger however that was more than the First Team could manage with Martin Loakes men not playing since 24 October when disappointingly going down 5-0 at Berkhamsted Raiders. There is talk however of 'the blazers' at the FA Council being asked to extend the Step 7 campaign to 30 June, whether that would give sufficient time for all the remaining SSML Division 2 games to be played is the million dollar question and Karen would have to be paid overtime:

Further to the announcement by the Herts Senior County League last Thursday where they declared their season null and void, here is an update from League Secretary Scott Patmore who you may have heard talking to Ollie Bayliss on the BBC Three Counties Radio Non League Show on Sunday. It will be a good opportunity for Third Division Sarratt Reserves to lock horns with one of the 'big boys' in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division as the planned 'Inter League Cup competition will comprise of a World Cup style draw of four seperate pots of Premier Division, First Division, Second Division and Third Division teams so Sarratt Reserves could well meet the likes of Royston Town Reserves, Harefield United Reserves, Hoddesdon Town Reserves or Welwyn Garden City Under 23's:

The draw for the end of season Herts Senior County League Division Three Cup competition was made earlier today which sees Sarratt Reserves in a group with Hinton Reserves, Knebworth Reserves and Bedmond Sports, there are four groups of four teams and the winners of each group go into a Semi Final which gives all Division Three Club's at least three matches. Sarratt Reserves will be bullish about their chances of winning the group having already beaten Knebworth Reserves and Hinton Reserves this season, they had yet to lock horns with Bedmond Sports however the Toms Lane Club had not exactly been pulling up trees in Division Three when the season was unfortunately curtailed.

This should be an interesting affair at the King George V Playing Fields on Saturday, Sarratt Reserves have already beaten Knebworth Reserves 5-2 when travelling to their Recreation Ground on Saturday 26 September with goals from Charles Hammond, Daniel Mayrick, Graham Comper and a brace from Gareth Styles:

Sarratt Reserves drew 2-2 at the King George V Playing Fields this afternoon against Knebworth Reserves in a Herts Senior County League Division Three Cup Group A fixture, it was a slightly disappointing result in a game Sarratt Reserves were fully expected to win having comfortably accounted for Knebworth Reserves when winning 5-2 at their Recreation Ground headuarters in a Division Three fixture on Saturday 26 September. Next up is a trip to Bedmond Sports interestingly named Toms Lane home on Saturday 10 April followed by a visit from Hinton the following Saturday. Meanwhile Sarratt's First team embark on their SSML Division Two Spring Cup campaign with a visit to Berkhamsted Raiders next Saturday, 10 April, and the salubrious surroundings of the Orbital Fasteners Stadium.

I see that Sarratt are looking for a new Reserve Team boss for next season, I'm sure Chairman Tom Shurville will be knocked over in the rush of applicants:
