A 15th minute red card for an off the ball incident effectively decided the outcome of this one, in front of the Prem's highest crowd of the season (524, doubtless swelled by the lure of seeing the league's entertainers  

Shorn of Tom Inch early doors and consequently of the sacrificed Kristian Swaby it was always going to be a backs to the wall effort for the often beleaguered Jets defence from there, but it was a hugely improved defensive display which saw the sides go in level. 

The opener when it came just before the hour was a flukey cross which sailed over Brad Shaw's head into the far corner from out wide, almost a carbon copy of one conceded at home recently (by Ardley IIRC).  So often before the visitors have folded after conceding, but not today and they stuck to their task without ever really threatening at the other end. A second did come from a good header, but Leighton didn't impress at all and with a full complement this might have been a different outcome.  

The Leighton pasties lived up to the hype, I had 2. My waistline is grateful we don't have them at the Boundary.

Venue: Creasey Park - Based down a road in a residential area of Dunstable, there’s a large car park and plenty of road parking. The complex is quite large with the clubhouse acting as the centre point. The clubhouse runs down one touchline of the pitch, with further grass pitches on the other side of the clubhouse and multiple full size 3G pitches further on. The game was obviously on the first team pitch. The opposite touchline has a large modern covered seating area which seats around 270. Behind on goal is ‘the Aaron Bateman Stand’ which is a modern standing covered area the width of the goal. A nice memorial to Aaron Bateman is next to it. The opposite goal line has a tiny covered standing area. Overall the ground is a pleasant place to watch football and all volunteers were friendly.
Game - quite a bitty affair with plenty of fouls, diving and time wasting. Dunstable took the lead on the 31st minute when the ball was pulled back from the right and Remell Stirling smashed it in. Dunstable went 2-0 up in the 81st when full back Daniel Trif crossed from the right and Dylan Bakers header looped over the keeper. Leverstock pulled one back in the 89th through an Ethan Mooney penalty.
